Blue Duck Headquarters Gets Even Greener

November 2012 (Chino, CA) – SPC Display Group, known for their blue duck, Shades, has recently incorporated energy-efficient high-bay T-5 fluorescent lighting throughout their warehouse, along with occupancy sensors, to contribute to a greener and more sustainable environment. Of course SPC also realizes numerous benefits, including a significant reduction in electric usage; less maintenance, because of a much longer lamp lifespan; and a brighter, more pleasant working environment for warehouse staff. Paul Thomlison, SPC Logistics Manager, was the driving force behind the move to a more efficient lighting program. According to Mr. Thomlison, "many retail and consumer brand customers have been asking vendors to be more green. It made perfect sense to comply with their wishes, especially when everyone wins – our customers, the environment, and SPC."

In addition to the fluorescent lighting program, Mr. Thomlison was instrumental in SPC's efforts to improve efficiencies throughout their new corporate offices, main warehouse and distribution center in Chino, CA, incorporating occupancy sensors on office lights and warehouse faucets, and initiating a recycling program for all cardboard, plastic packing material, metal, and e-waste.
